First Rudakov surgery for Pectus Excavatum in Greece
Dr. Panos Hountis and his Team at the Athens Naval Hospital performed for the first time in Greece a Rudakov surgery to correct pectus excavatum in a 36 years old male patient.
For some time the patient had a feeling of his heart beat very close to the left side chest wall. Scan CT was actually showing the heart structures positioned in an all left position.
Dr. Panos Hountis, head of CardioThoracic surgery at the Athens Navy Hospital decided to perform the Rudakov technique with the objective of correcting pectus excavatum and as a consequence hoping that the heart structures will then return to their original position or nearby.
Dr. Hountis commented the Rudakov technique easy to perform and with good esthetical results.
